Behind every vineyard rises the Andes. Water travels down from snow-covered peaks through an irrigation system that has transformed an arid landscape into one of the world’s great wine regions. Vineyards stretch toward the mountains, small roads disappear between estates and long lunches unfold beneath enormous skies.
Mendoza Wine Journey explores that relationship between wine, landscape and the people who have learned to work with both. There will be exceptional wines and remarkable wineries, but this is not a tasting tour. We move through the territory — walking, riding, exploring mountain roads, meeting producers and sitting around tables where food and wine become part of a much larger experience.
Some days lead into vineyards. Others lead toward the Andes. And sometimes the best moment is simply stopping somewhere beautiful, opening a bottle and allowing Mendoza to do the rest.

Wine with a sense of place.
Rather than moving from tasting room to tasting room, we explore why Mendoza’s wines taste the way they do. Altitude, soil, sun, temperature and water all change as we travel, turning each winery into another way of reading the landscape.
Move through the vineyards.
Depending on the season and the group, part of Mendoza is better experienced away from the vehicle — walking or cycling between vines, riding through the countryside or simply following a dirt road toward the mountains.
Let lunch become an experience.
In Mendoza, lunch does not need to fit between activities. A table overlooking the vines, several courses built around local ingredients and wines poured slowly can become one of the day’s main events.
Leave the vineyards behind.
The Andes are not scenery placed behind Mendoza — they are the reason Mendoza exists. One day takes us toward the mountains, following the landscape upstream into increasingly wild terrain where vineyards give way to rock, rivers and high-altitude valleys.

Not every moment needs a reservation. A viewpoint, a small producer, a roadside stop or a bottle opened somewhere beneath the Andes can become as memorable as the most celebrated winery.

For travelers who want more than a winery circuit. This journey is deliberately designed to break the standard Mendoza formula. Wineries matter, but so do mountain roads, outdoor experiences, conversations, meals and the spaces between scheduled activities.
For travelers who enjoy active days without sacrificing comfort. A morning might involve a walk, bicycle ride or horseback journey, followed by a long lunch and an exceptional bottle of wine. Activity and indulgence are not opposites here; they are part of the same rhythm.
For those who appreciate access and intimacy. The most memorable experience is not necessarily the most famous winery. We favor places and encounters that allow genuine contact with Mendoza and the people behind it.
For travelers who prefer time over checklists. There is no ambition to visit the greatest possible number of wineries. Fewer places, better chosen and experienced without rushing, are much closer to the Willimapu way of traveling.
What Is Included
Distinctive accommodation. Carefully selected accommodation places travelers within the landscape rather than simply providing somewhere to sleep — whether among vineyards, overlooking the Andes or close to Mendoza’s gastronomic life.
A curated wine experience. Selected winery visits, private or small-format tastings and encounters with producers are incorporated according to the interests of each group. The objective is variety and context rather than quantity.
Food as part of the journey. Breakfasts, selected lunches and dinners are incorporated into the experience, with particular attention to local ingredients, open-fire cooking and the relationship between Mendoza’s cuisine and its wines.
Exploration beyond the wineries. Private transportation and the activities included in the final itinerary allow us to move between vineyards, countryside and mountains without turning the journey into a sequence of transfers.
Local knowledge and complete coordination. Willimapu handles the logistics, reservations and local coordination while guides and specialists bring context to the landscape, wine and culture encountered along the way.
Domestic and international flights to and from Mendoza are not included.

Ride toward the Andes. Explore the foothills or vineyard country on horseback, following trails through landscapes that connect Mendoza’s rural traditions with the enormous scale of the mountains.
Cycle between vineyards. A carefully chosen cycling route creates a slower and more physical way of moving through wine country, with stops designed around the landscape rather than simply around tastings.
Create your own wine. Go beyond tasting with a blending experience alongside a winemaker, experimenting with different components before creating a personal interpretation of a Mendoza wine.
Go deeper into the Andes. Dedicate a full day to the mountains, following dramatic roads toward high-altitude landscapes, stopping to walk, explore and enjoy lunch far from the vineyards.
Cook with Mendoza. Join a private cooking or open-fire experience where regional ingredients, Argentine techniques and local wines come together around the table.
Take Mendoza from the air. A private flight or helicopter experience can reveal the geography that defines the region: an extraordinary strip of green vineyards caught between desert and the immense wall of the Andes.
